Soaking safely
- Mineral pools can be very hot. Start in a cooler pool and limit long soaks in the hottest tubs.
- Drink water often, and go easy on alcohol while soaking.
- If you're pregnant, have a heart condition or take medication, check with your doctor about hot soaks first.
Summer heat tips
- Desert summers are extremely hot. Plan for morning or evening soaks and avoid midday sun.
- Pool decks get hot; wear sandals.
- Shade can be limited, so bring a hat and reapply sunscreen.
- Some resorts change hours or offer summer locals rates. Hours and deals change, so check the resort's site or call. Our monthly email, This month in the soaks, rounds up price changes and deals.
